Ferndale Has Gone to the Dogs!
Fido Does Ferndale Takes Over 9 Mile
July 8, 2008, Ferndale, MI - On Saturday, July 26, Ferndale will go
to the dogs - literally. Fido Does Ferndale, the City's newest event,
will showcase the many canine-friendly aspects of Ferndale. Many
downtown businesses will be open to patrons and their pets, with most
providing doggie treats, water and extra bags in case you need one.
Dog-lovers looking for something more than shopping will be able to
participate in the Pooch Parade, with proceeds going to Wonderful
Animals Giving Support (WAGS), a program of the Midwest AIDS Prevention
Project. The day will also include Charge of the Chihuahua and a
phoDOGrapher will be on hand to take pictures of owners and their pets.
Rescue organizations will be hand for those looking for a canine
companion. Several vendors, selling pet-themed wares, will be set-up
along Nine Mile Rd. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Several local businesses will be generously donating their time and
services during Fido Does Ferndale. They include Bubble and Bark, Naka,
Fetch, A.J.'s Café, Great Wall, Affirmations and Little Friends of
Ferndale.
